I am an urban ethnographer and disability studies scholar whose work brings disability studies into conversation with the anthropology of East Asia. My dissertation examines how young disabled activists develop new forms of advocacy, expertise, and collective life in response to institutional exclusion. My work has appeared or is forthcoming in Anthropology News, Disability & Society, Disability Studies Quarterly, and Information. Since 2020, I have served as a founding editor of Tyingknots (结绳志), an open-access, pan-Chinese anthropology platform.
