This is the first year the Bertram J. Cohler B.A. Thesis Prize has been awarded. The prize, recognizing the best thesis investigating topics related to individuals in context in CHD, honors Professor Bert Cohler, the William Rainey Harper Professor in CHD and The College (1972-2012). Cohler was noted for his dedication to teaching the Self, Culture and Society Core sequence.
Sarah Eikenberry is the recipient of this inaugural award for her thesis “Good Germans and Bad Nazis: The Holocaust and German Responsibility in Postwar West German History Textbooks”.
