  • Awards won by students in the Department of Comparative Human Development

The department announces the addition of two new faculty members.

Eugene Raikhel is a Princeton trained medical anthropologist who is interested in placebos. His field site has been in Russia.

Guanglei Hong, a Michigan trained statistician, studies the consequences of various educational practices.

The department also announces a change in leadership. Richard Taub who has been chair for the last nine years will be succeeded by John Lucy. Professor Lucy has his PhD from the Department of Comparative Human Development and studies the relationship of language to thought as well as conceptions of the self. His field site has been the Yucatan and his research subjects, pre-adolescent youth.
